PAEDIATRIC ANAESTHESIA

RELAXED AND COMPLETELY FREE FROM PAIN – TREATING CHILDREN UNDER ANAESTHESIA

By means of our wide range of preventive care services for children, such as early detection examinations and our brushing school, we would like to prevent problems such as tooth decay as far as possible. Nevertheless, if dental treatment does still become necessary, we typically use a local anaesthetic to avoid any pain for the child or any damage to the remaining teeth. This eliminates localised pain. If there is already very severe tooth decay and a full restoration of the teeth is necessary, we offer a relaxed and pain-free treatment option in the form of general anaesthesia. Otherwise, small children in particular find it difficult to sit quietly in the dentist’s chair for long enough. The anaesthesia is carried out as by means of intubation, supervised by our experienced anaesthetist. The children simply sleep through the treatment and we continue to take care of them after they have woken up. If paediatric anaesthesia is medically necessary, health insurance will cover the costs. We’ll be happy to discuss the details with you in our practice.

WELL PREPARED FOR ANAESTHESIA

Going under anaesthesia can be an unsettling situation for parents and children. You will get all the important information during a comprehensive consultation in our practice. We will sensitively explain it in a way that makes even our younger patients feel well prepared for anaesthesia. You’re welcome to bring your child’s favourite cuddly toy along to their treatment, or a book or a mobile phone and earphones for older children.
