Fluorine –
sometimes more, sometimes less useful

After professional teeth cleaning, fluoridation is helpful for some teeth. Children's teeth often need more additional fluorine, but some adults can benefit from fluoride gel too. We first assess the substance of the teeth and then decide if we recommend fluorine.

The use of fluoride preparations is carried out exclusively with the consent of the patient and after consultation.

Support for children's tooth enamel

Fluorine protects teeth which are particularly susceptible to caries. It penetrates the dental plaque and prevents the caries-causing bacteria metabolising. Depending on the susceptibility of your child's teeth – and only with your consent – we treat the regularly with fluoride gel or paint.

Fluoride for adults

Normally, adult teeth get enough fluoride from the toothpaste. Despite this, there are certain types of tooth enamel which are helped by a higher fluoride dose. We observe your susceptibility to caries and your tooth enamel closely and recommend additional fluoride if it is beneficial.
